COSRX Snail Mucin Review: My 30-Day Test on 50-Year-Old Skin

All right, I have made it to the fourth product in my serum review series, and this round I tested the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. I had no clue what snail mucin was and found the name to be a little weird, but because I kept hearing rumblings about it, I was intrigued enough to give it a try.
The Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence claims to help the skin lose less moisture, while keeping it smooth and healthy. For 30 days, I kept my skincare routine the same, adding this product during the serum step of my routine along with my usual boosters.

On day one of using the serum, I noticed a couple of things. First, the texture was different than any of the previous serums I tried. This serum has more of a gel- like consistency to it. Nothing too thick, but definitely not as thin as the previous serum. I was a bit concerned this texture might not work well on my skin, but I was wrong. In fact, I noticed the complete opposite. Once applied, the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence absorbed into my skin quickly with very little patting needed.
To say I was shocked is an understatement, but it was only day one, so I had to keep going and see how things turned out. Throughout the 30 days, my experience remained pretty consistent, although I still found myself a little unsure about how I felt about this product. My skin felt good and looked good. I think I was most surprised that a product costing me less than $20 felt this nice on my skin.
T
o be honest, what I would like to do is pair this with one of the moisturizers I’ve previously reviewed like the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream, to see how the two work together. I was a fan of that moisturizer and wonder what this combination would be like for my aging skin.
Overall, I was both happy with the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, and still on the fence as well. I would say the price point makes the serum a great place to start when looking to a find a serum to add to your routine. I have normal skin and this worked well in my routine. Whether you’re younger or older, it may be worth checking out to see how it works for your skin.
Have you heard of and tried snail mucin before?
