Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum Review: Is It Worth $79?

The third product in my serum review series brings me to the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum. I first heard about the Drunk Elephant product line because of the hype surrounding the Protini Polypeptide Cream (a review of that will be coming), so when the Ulta spring beauty sale was going on and this serum was available for half off, I figured it would be worth trying.

The Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum contains ingredients like vitamin C, ferulic acid, and vitamin E to help reveal a brighter, firmer, and more even looking complexion. This serum requires a little more effort because you have to mix it yourself. The idea is that mixing it fresh helps protect the freshness of the serum, but I did find the process a little inconvenient. It mixed together fairly well, but there was some product that I couldn't get to fully dissolve, which was disappointing.

This serum is also thinner than other serums I have tried. A serum shouldn't necessarily be thick, but others I have used do have a little more texture than this one. I did think the thinner consistency worked well with the boosters I was using because it mixed easily with them.

Once applied, I had to pat it into my skin a bit, which was different from some of the other serums I've used. That said, it absorbed into my skin nicely and didn't leave me feeling like I had a heavy layer of product sitting on my face.

During the course of the 30 days I used it, I did feel like my skin looked nice and bright. My complexion was even, and my skin texture felt smooth. It also paired well with the other products in my skincare routine and seemed to complement my overall routine nicely.

The biggest downside to the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum is the price tag. At $79, it's definitely an investment. I've tested other serums that cost considerably less and have been very pleased with the results. I also have a couple more serums in this series that I'm looking forward to trying, especially since they cost less than half the price of this particular serum.

Overall, the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum is a nice high-end serum to check out, especially if you can find it on sale. After using it for 30 days, I was happy with how my skin looked and felt, but it didn't completely convince me to abandon my standard serum in favor of this one.

If price isn't an issue for you and you're interested in trying a vitamin C serum from a higher-end skincare brand, I do think the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum is worth checking out. For me, though, I'll probably stick with my standard serum and keep looking for an option that gives me similar results at a lower price.
