I started my product review series earlier this year trying a different moisturizer each month with some products I was gifted. Recently, however, I decided to pause that category and explore a new skincare product for a few months. Maybe it's because the seasons are changing, but for now, my focus has shifted to serums. I was gifted the Inkey List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum, making it a great product to kick off this new series.

Of course, I didn’t stop with just one serum. During the spring sales at Ulta and Amazon, I picked up a few other popular options to compare. Normally, I use the Olay Regenerist Serum daily because it is lightweight and absorbs beautifully into my skin. When applying my serum, I also incorporate boosters such as niacinamide, peptides, and hyaluronic acid into my routine. This is a personal preference, but it may be worth considering if your current skincare products do not already contain these ingredients.

The Inkey List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum is known as a dual-action serum that delivers hydration and helps build a stronger barrier for healthy-looking skin. I noticed its texture was a bit different—slightly creamier than my usual serum. I followed my regular skincare routine and continued using my boosters alongside the serum to see how everything worked together.

Fortunately, I experienced no issues during the entire 30-day testing period. The serum absorbed well, layered easily with my other products, and left my skin feeling hydrated without any heaviness. Throughout the month, my skin maintained its usual healthy appearance and stayed consistently moisturized.

As someone with normal skin, I found this serum to be a great fit. The product is also marketed for dry and combination skin types, making it a versatile option for a wide range of users. While I am testing it on aging skin, I believe it could work well for anyone looking to introduce a hydrating serum into their skincare routine.

Another advantage is the affordable price point. At around $17, the Inkey List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum offers an accessible entry point for those who are new to serums or looking to strengthen their skin barrier without spending a fortune.

Overall, this Inkey List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum left me with a positive impression. It delivered reliable hydration, worked seamlessly with my existing skincare routine, and provided excellent value for the price. If you're searching for a simple yet effective serum that supports hydration and skin barrier health, this one is definitely worth considering.
