Valentine's Day Style Under $20

Let's get straight to the point here. Valentine's Day is coming soon, and typically it's not a holiday I put a lot of effort into unless I'm going on a date. Unlike Christmas, where I go all out when it comes to what I wear, I take a different approach to the day of love. I like to be able to wear any item that I may purchase beyond February 14th, and of course I don't like to spend a lot of money. I found several pieces for less than $20, and I've put together a few looks. If you play your cards right, $20 is all it will cost you too.

I'm not going to pull any punches with you. You might ask how am I putting together anything for $20? The answer is simple, I shop my closet. I found the cutest tops on Amazon and pulled everything else from my closet. Some items I purchased a few months ago, and some pieces have been in my closet for over a year just waiting for this moment.

Now, remember when I said I like my clothes to serve more than one purpose or season? Well, when I saw this top from Amazon, I knew I had a winner. It's a graphic sweatshirt that will go way beyond the Valentine's holiday. I pulled a few items from my closet (most of which may be a staple in yours) and came up with a few ideas for the holiday or any time you need a fresh look. A blazer, some high waisted straight leg jeans, and sneakers are casual enough for hanging out for Galentine’s, but feel free to elevate this look with a nice heel as well. You know how much I love coated denim, so why not grab the skirt I purchased a couple months back and use it now? A simple black tight and basic pair of black boots changes the look up, and has me wanting to step out for a nice evening this season. Both looks are simple enough to recreate with similar items from your own closet, so have fun with it.

I know you've heard me say this and everyone else too, but I’ll say it again, get yourself a little black dress for your closet! There will come a time when you need that dress, and the time is now. I purchased this little number on clearance at the end of the summer. I knew I wasn't going to use it then, but I tucked it away for instances like this. Yes, it is a spaghetti strap, but that's a problem that can be easily solved. My moto jacket and black heels add a bit of edginess to this look and still give sexy vibes. I love this dress and hope to have it for a while. While this dress looks great with the jacket, it is absolutely FABULOUS without it! It will be good on any number of occasions, but for Valentine's Day it's specifically for date night.

If going out for Valentine's Day isn't your thing, don’t worry I have you covered. How about the cutest pajamas for getting cozy and comfortable at home? These pajamas definitely scream Valentine's because of the hearts, but who says hearts are just for Valentine's Day? These pajamas will be great for the season and beyond. I like things to be cool when I'm sleeping so the shorts were what grabbed my attention, but there was also a pants version of this print you can cozy up in as well.

Whether you're hanging out with the girls, chilling at home, or going on a date, this Valentine's Day shouldn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. There are so many budget-friendly options, with the friendliest option being your closet. Find an inexpensive piece like a top then have fun creating new looks from your own wardrobe. What are your plans for the Valentine's holiday?
