Simple Travel Outfits For Summer

Over 40 woman sharing ideas for travel outfits this summer

Summer travel is in full swing. I have a family reunion I'll be attending in a week, and while I was preparing for what to pack, I remembered that list also included what to wear to the airport. It's hot right now, and moving on and off an airplane, and in and out of airports can be tricky. You don't want to overdo it, and be sweaty and annoyed, yet you want to have enough clothing so you’re not freezing cold. Putting together nice travel outfits is important to the whole packing process. It's not very difficult to pull some options together if we keep things simple. When I say simple, I do mean having layers, but our travel outfits aren't going to consist of more than three pieces which you may already have in your closet.

A jogger set is a simple way to go because it takes the guesswork out of things since it's a set, and all you need is a simple T-shirt or tank top to complete it. Keep the hoodie wrapped around your waist or draped over your shoulders if it's comfortable inside, and slip it on if the air conditioning is blasting. Even if you don't have a matching set, a simple pair of joggers, T-shirt and hoodie or sweatshirt will work the same for your summer travel packing.

Leggings and an oversized tee shirt are great options for travel outfits

Leggings usually make up part of my travel outfits every time I'm packing. Whether I'm driving or flying, I like a nice pair of leggings. When I say leggings, I don't mean the athletic type. Those are okay, but I prefer a basic kind of legging because it's soft and allows me to move around in comfort. Again, all you need is a simple oversized shirt or tank, then add your jacket (like denim) or an oversized button-down shirt. The same rules apply when it comes to tying the top layer around your waist when you don't need it.

One of your travel outfits could be a simple maxi dress and lightweight top.

Lastly, a simple maxi dress for your summer travel can also allow you to be both cute and comfortable. The material on this one feels similar to my leggings, so I have that softness from head-to-toe. Since it's long my legs will still be covered, and all I'll need is a top layer. Adding a simple shirt I can tie around the front and roll up the sleeves a bit is an easy look to achieve, or you can't go wrong adding your denim jacket. This option could be one of your favorite travel outfits because it only consists of two pieces. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.

If you didn't realize already, sneakers are a must for me when styling my travel outfits. They're stylish, comfortable for all the walking, and go with either my pants or dresses. Plus, if I pack correctly, they'll go with several of my outfits for my trip. Putting your travel outfits together for your next adventure can be very easy. Check your closet and see what pieces you can use to recreate these simple looks. What's your go to outfit for all your summer travel?
