With the change of seasons comes a change in routines, and sometimes that’s necessary, even though I’m not big on change. That’s why when I find things I truly like, I stick with them for as long as I can. Winter can often leave you feeling like a routine shake-up is required, but right now I have a few tried-and-true habits that keep me grounded and comfortable. This season, I’m fully embracing my soft girl era winter self-care, and these simple routines are helping me feel taken care of even while I'm anxiously anticipating spring.

Staying moisturized and hydrated during the winter months is a must. Most of the time, I don’t switch products when the seasons change. Normally, I mix up my shea butter, and its thickness keeps my skin moisturized all day long. However, last summer I decided to try something new after a recommendation. I was open to using something lighter during the warmer months, and Vaseline Radiant X Lotion ended up being really good to my skin. I started adding Palmer’s Body Oil for a little extra hydration, and quickly realized I had found a winning combination. When winter arrived, I decided to keep using it to see how my skin would hold up, and I have no complaints so far.

At this stage of life, we all know that a good skincare routine is essential. Paula’s Choice and I have been rocking together for quite some time now, and it’s been great pairing their products with a few drugstore favorites to find what truly works for me. I’m hoping I can continue with this routine for a while, although I understand my skin’s needs may change as I age. For now, my skin is happy, and I’ll take that as a win.

I’m no stranger to exfoliating my face, and I’ve heard plenty about exfoliating the body, but never in my life had I heard of exfoliating my lips. After hearing someone mention lip exfoliation, I decided to see what was out there. The Fresh Sugar Lip Polish popped up in my search, and I decided to give it a try. It’s simple to use and has become part of my nighttime routine a couple of evenings a week. I use it right before bed and follow up with my lip mask. It’s a small self-care ritual I genuinely enjoy and look forward to.

My soft girl era isn’t just about skincare—it also includes how I’m taking care of my mind and body. Right now, that looks like adding wall Pilates into my routine, which helps me feel strong and supported. Since I’m a big walker, good walking shoes are non-negotiable. Rachel Fit Pilates has been my go-to program lately, and I’m definitely not giving up my Hokas anytime soon.

I’ve found a few things that are really working for me this season, and it feels good to feel nurtured during a time of year that can be a little more challenging. These are simple additions, but they add meaningful self-care moments to my daily life, and that’s exactly what I need right now.

In what little ways are you practicing self-care this season?
