Asian Beauty Secrets for Glowing Skin and Wellness Over 40

As I get older, I find myself more open to trying new things. With so much information available online, I’m constantly learning and evolving my routine. Recently, the idea of being a “Chinese baddie” has been trending which highlights a lifestyle inspired by Asian culture. While some of these habits were already part of my routine, I’ve picked up a few new ones that I think are worth sharing. These Asian beauty secrets are simple, effective, and easy to incorporate into everyday life.

Warm Water First Thing in the Morning
I’ve been drinking warm water every morning for a couple of years now. I like to add key lime, but lemon works just as well. This simple habit helps gently wake up your digestive system at the start of the day. Adding citrus is also a great way to boost your vitamin C intake, which supports both your skin and immune system. It’s one of the easiest Asian beauty secrets to start with.

Jujube Fruit and Goji Berry Tea
I discovered this tea on TikTok last year and was immediately intrigued. It’s made with just two main ingredients, jujube fruit and goji berries, one of which I was already using. After finding jujube fruit at my local Asian market, I was hooked. The tea is light, comforting, and packed with antioxidants and vitamin C. A friend suggested adding ginger, which I now include for its anti-inflammatory benefits. This tea has become a staple in my wellness routine.

Jujube Fruit
Beyond tea, I also eat jujube fruit regularly. After brewing, I save the fruit and add it to my smoothies. Also known as the Asian date, jujube fruit is rich in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. It’s often praised in Asian culture for its skin benefits. The flavor is light with a subtle sweetness that is perfect if you prefer something mild.

Asian Squats
This is one habit I had to work up to, but it has been worth it. Asian squats help improve mobility, flexibility, and strength, while also relieving back pain. Since I deal with occasional back discomfort, this became a no-brainer for me. My goal is to maintain enough flexibility to comfortably hold this position for years to come.

Bonus New Addition: Bone Broth
I recently added bone broth to my routine after seeing it trend on TikTok. It’s a natural source of collagen, which supports skin, hair, and joint health. I typically have it warm in the morning, similar to my lemon water, to avoid shocking my system. I prefer making it from scratch and sometimes turn it into a light meal by adding vegetables and chicken. So far, it’s been a comforting and nourishing addition. When I am unable to make it myself, I found a brand that also helps me to get in that one cup daily.
When you look closely, there’s a clear pattern. These habits focus on vitamins, antioxidants, skin health, and overall wellness. These Asian beauty secrets are not about quick fixes, but about creating sustainable routines that support the body from the inside out.
As we age, taking care of ourselves becomes even more important, and learning from different cultures can be incredibly beneficial. Try adding one or two of these habits into your routine and see how they work for you. I’ve already discovered another potential addition that I’m excited to test, so stay tuned.
