Excuse Me For Being So Graphic

In case you haven't noticed, 2021 has set it off with the black pop culture representation in graphic tees. I mean who doesn't love a graphic tee? If you're like me you wanted a band tee for a while but you were only seeing the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles etc. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with these groups (I even enjoy some of the music) but it just hits different when you see and wear a graphic tee with a band or person you have grown up with.

A friend and I were talking and he pointed out that before these tees were a staple clothing item, the only person he could remember on a shirt was Michael Jackson. I remember later on seeing the occasional shirts with Biggie, Tupac, and Bob Marley, but they weren't as popular or readily available like they are now and needless to say I'm excited. I couldn't contain myself when I saw the TLC tee at American Eagle and I didn't hesitate to purchase it. Then I went on the hunt for more, well because I have three daughters right? I have found Prince, Whitney Houston, and the Wu Tang Clan to name a few. I have also found some tees with powerful statements and images of beautiful black women and hair.

Representation matters and we plan to represent and encourage you to purchase these things so the demand grows, the products remain, and eventually you don't have to ask, "Where's that tee that speaks to me?" Drop a comment and tell us who you would love to see represented on your graphic tee?
